I once watched a television show which was interviewing her, Baobao Wan, a legendary woman, in modern China.
Perhaps her famous family helps her gain the current achievement and fame.
She was born in a high political family. Maybe the redness and communist ideas were dominated in her memory of childhood. In China, the children of important leaders are often paid attention to by the public, and become an interesting topic for gossip. People talk about the brilliant children of the red families, and Baobao Wan has no exception. But her career is different from other offspring of political families who are mostly working in economics, law,and business. She has grown up and established herself as a jewelry designer.
She does not like to say too much about her family which can be a burden to her. She prefers public see more on her creativity and aesthetic ideas than her great family background. She wants people to see this is her, the success belongs to herself, not about her family.
I admit that she is a brilliant designer. In the show, she always presents her elegance and unique personality to the audiences. She is not very pretty in her face, but she has very confident and clean eyesight and she looks very good in all her photos. She is wearing her own designs and she even brings some pieces to the show. She tells us about the inspirations and stories about the jewelry.
She uses many symbols in Chinese traditional culture. Just like her own life, her creation is full of contradiction, legendary and imagination. As she says,
"My jewelry reflects my complex experience and personality," Bao Bao explains. "Strong and independent, but fragile and sensitive. Cutting edge, but elegant: my jewelry speaks for the modern woman." Every piece captures a realistic moment in nature, a metaphor for The Woman, while the use of gold and diamonds expresses timeless youth and beauty'.
