Hermès Previews Autumn/Winter Collections
Accessories, Jewelry, Porcelain Collections Shown At T. Art Center
With partnerships between Chinese contemporary artists and major luxury brands becoming an increasingly popular means of reaching Chinese consumers, it’s perhaps no surprise that Hermès chose the T. Art Center (梯级艺术中心) in Beijing’s 798 Art District this week for its autumn/winter 2010 accessories, jewelry and porcelain media preview. China is one of Hermès’ largest markets, and the fashion house is readying the fall launch of its new China-designed, sourced and produced sub-brand, Shang Xia (previously on Jing Daily). Considering the brand was rapped in China earlier this year for supposedly sub-par product quality (under somewhat shady pretenses), recent outreach efforts may be aimed at getting back on track for a strong Shang Xia debut.
